"Katy, Texas, Tornado" (2007)
Oil on copper (9" x 12")
In the collection of Dr Dale Hamilton, Angleton, Texas.
(Notes: A green sky and an EF4 wedge tornado near Katy, Texas.
Wedge tornadoes can reach massive size. The widest on record is 2.5 miles for a tornado that struck Hallam, Nebraska, on June 9th,
2004. What causes the eerie green sky associated with tornadic weather is still a mystery to meteorologists. Remember -- when the sky turns green, grab up your pets and head for shelter.)
